2008. . . .

My 2008
my year of Thanksgiving!
Yes yes yes!
I will be a graduate this year!
My sister will be a wife this year!lol
So many great things happening this year
But the year didn’t exactly start on such a high note,
January 1st met me in church, Rhema ministries in Jo’burg (jahberg as they call it), SA

Yeah my sisters and i had gone for New Year hols in SA, my first time in that country. We managed to find this church because we heard that the churches usually don’t do watch night service on weekdays, anyways it was quite a distance from where we were staying at Sandton.

After being caught up in the euphoria of the new year, thanking God, praying, singing and dancing, we then decided to head back to our place, the cab was nowhere to be found. We had to call another one, well this guy duped us, we paid double the fare and he didn’t even have his meter running, and being Nigerians, lol, we said we weren’t paying the fare, we had gotten away with this kind of behaviour in dubai another post.lol, we were still being heady when the guy said he would kill us WHATT!!! We were so shocked kill us on top 160 rands???? He later said he was a comedian and he was just joking, such a sick joke and on new years day again!!! We payed the guy sha,....

Got upstairs prayed and ate, we went to Gold reef theme park later that day, wooosh that place is really fun, but it was soo sunny n hot, i wasn’t feeling too well either, but when i saw the Anaconda i knew i just had to get on it, riding it was like dying for 20s and waking up to feel such a thrill, it was sooo much funny!

We went shopping the next day and i lost my phone, i have never used a phone for one full year, my last phone was stolen in April and this one right there in a mall on the second of January!, i was so angry with myself how could i have been so careless??! And my sister had spoken to me on responsibility issues, you know, she was like i wasn’t responsible enough and this event kinda proved it, i felt, i tried calling the phone but it was switched off and it was the last mall we went to before heading home it was already late, those people close shop at 5, 6 pm. Kai!

My phone, about 300 rand, some piece of jewellery and my memory card were inside the purse i misplaced, i really don’t know how it happened, i tell ya,i had even taken a pic when we got into the mall with my phone, we spent only about 30-45 mins there, i was just about to pay for some stuff when i checked my bag and didn’t see it, I was burnt in my spirit.
, I was really sad but i thanked God that my sim card,my ID cards, my passport and other very important documents weren’t there, infact the miracle was that i had just removed those things the day before!

I was still thinking about myself when we got the terrible news that our neighbours in VI had raped someone! I could hardly sleep that night, this story is for another post,
Anyways the rest of our stay was cool, we went to a lion park, so nice! My younger sister forgot her phone in the cinema at Monticello, luckily she got it back the next day! We had dinner twice at the Michealangelo.. woow that place is sooooo posh! it was all good, i bought things for my family members, only wish i had bought some more stuff, i had about 300 rand on me on the flight back to naija. Then my older sisters’ blackberry was stolen in naija when we got our luggages and found out they had been tampered with. Aah Virgin Nigeria!!!!!

I was just like what a new year! I will thank God regardless.

Next i was thinking of school, i had exams the next week, made my hair on Monday, got to school on Tuesday, had a term paper to submit, got down to it. Exams were great but my school really disappointed me when they stopped my whole department from writing a paper because of 20,000, this is definitely another post.We wrote the paper much later that day though.
Next thing, a day later i heard a graduate from my school had died, an engineering student, someone I knew, someone i had talked to a number of times, someone so cool, i was sad the rest of that day and my mind went philosophical on me. I was playing a song by superchick,
we live which goes,

There’s a cross
By the side of the road
Where a mother left her son how could she know
that the morning he left would be last time
she would trade with him for a little more time,
if she could say she loves him one last time
and hold him tight but with life we never know when we are coming to the end of the road,
so what do we do then
with tragedies around the bend,
WE live We love, we
Forgive and never give up
Cos the days we are given are gifts from above
So we remember to live and to looove!

God rest His soul, Amen!

Exams are done and here I am,
I just had to get this post in before the month runs out, lol
I heard about the bloggers party, I’m still new so i guess i may not have even fit in, with the venue just minutes from where i stay in VI i would have made it but sadly wasn’t even in the country..my friend, Phunky said we must make the next one! lol
So many Things have gone through my head from heaven to earth and back, i believe each day should make us stronger, more mature and closer to God, im happy because i see the changes in myself, I’m calmer, i listen to people better. ..and so much more!
This year so far has been a blessing, amidst the various mishaps and tragedies that have fallen on us or people we know in this very short time. I know that God always brings the good together for His people.

2008, MY YEAR OF THANKSGIVING

Femininity Vs Feminism

The Feminist movement is not about empowering woman to be feminine, it uses masculine tactics to achieve its agenda, Feminism doesn’t stand for femininity which is where a woman’s true power lies, though it pursues some causes that make it seem honourable like the fight for equal pay ans some other rights it masks a plan that is far more sinister than the masses or even some of the leaders could believe.
In the end this will do us more harm than good. Anytime a power struggle ensues between any two opposing forces there’s hardly any place for peace. Any so called movement that operates under any form of sexism will end up being divisive at best. If we are all on the bandwagon of feminism we will find ourselves heading in an opposite direction of where we wanted to go.
Some say it’s a lesbian movement, the thing is the main women fighting for abortion never even wanted children in the first place, and do you really want to do everything that men do? That is a potent question we need to ask ourselves. Look at men, look at them like you have never before, would you give up you womanhood to be like them? Don’t you have better things to do with your time than battle over issues that have no urgent relevance to your world?
This feminist movement is out of control. In the passion and appeal of fighting for our rights they have failed to see the friction it creates between woman and men in everyday exchanges. Men cannot seem to get a word because a woman suddenly thinks she doesn’t have to listen to him
All movements are dangerous when they result in fighting in the flesh, we know this world is primarily spiritual but we constantly forget this, the bible says “But knowing we battle against not flesh n blood but principalities and wickedness in high places”.
Lasting victory over any issue in this life can only be gained as we war in the spirit, God is the true champion of liberation, and we must submit our causes to him.
These feminist are usually very angry, and we know that anger usually masks extreme pain; it is not conducive to the healing process. But no one is beyond the hope of redemption, the hope of healing and deliverance.
God is the creator, he made the woman because he knew that it wasn’t good for man to be alone, the woman has a part to play in this world by being who God made her to be, as feminine as possible, she is also made in Gods image, if Adam was sand refined, Eve was doubly refined being that she was even taken out of him.
God’s image is such that the man reflects more of the mind of God while the woman reflects more of his heart, it is obviously so, We women wield a power of influence which is more potent than the power of authority the men wield.
Even Satan recognized the fact and went straight to Eve not Adam, knowing the power Eve had over him, and God said there and I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed. Why not the man? This shows how much power a praying woman has, we only have to look into the bible and see examples, there are so many women who use their femininity to get things done without trying to be like a man, the word for today is
Embrace your Femininity in the Lord!

Stalker Dude: Part Two

I bring you the final chapter of this story.I should have brought it , long time ago

Anyways! I and my friends, oops! My friends and I, Went across school to Egypt.
Egypt being anywhere opposite The Canaanland gate In which our school is located, but its mostly referred to the food selling sections

And yes, we went to buy food!

At this time i had already made up my mind not to eat food outside besides fried food, after the terrible ordeal of counting millions of hair in the last meal we ate, i consoled myself by saying it was actually goat hair from the stew!

So we went into one restaurant to buy food, while still trying to place our orders Stalker dude appears, even pushing me as he enters the restaurant. I turn to tell my friend she has noticed him already.

The dude was even still wearing the same clothes! How sick! The guy must really be kolomental. His face dusty and brown, his hair rat-chopped and algaebrown...the original poster boy for the word Unkempt, I thought.

My friend then goes to sit down while i wait for the food to be served, i ordered only plaintains, so my food was coming up very soon.
When i had gotten it i went to sit by my friend, and she began to tell me what happened. She said the guy had spoken to her while she passed him, because he was sitting at a table in the restaurant, she said he actually muttered ”Come and sit on my laps
I was like WHAT!!!The guy no dey fear face,
i was just making mouth then because we had a male friend with us who could handle any unpleasant situation...he he eheh.

But Thank Goodness it all ended there,

The guy gave us a final look and walked out of the restaurant, never to be seen again!

Amen!
2007

Once again.
I really have to let this year go oh!

I had some of the best times and moments of my life
But I also had some of the worst, terrible and shameful moments of my life.
I just thank God I made it through to 2008 with hardly any scratch, some people didn’t.
I’m soo grateful to Baba God.

2007 opened my eyes to lots of things and I am forever grateful to all those who were a part of it.
But i have to let this year go and look on 2008 with a fresh pair of eyes.
I will learn from my mistakes and forge ahead, I think that’s what life’s about

The day life will start becoming fair will be the day pigs will start flying.
I must accept what has been and take from it to become who i want to be.

There’s a song by Relient K i like...
It goes like this

I’m sorry for, the person I became
I’m ready to, not look back again
Who I am hates who I’ve been
Who I’ve been will take the second chance you gave me.

I thank God for another chance in this New Year, to be whom He wants me to be!,
To everyone I may have caused pain in any way
I’m sorry.
To those who I brought laughter o their lips and joy to their hearts
I’m not sorry,

It is the person I hope to be always!
Amen
Goodbye 2007,!!
