This Social Network and Others

Movie

I was going to write a lot concerning social netwworks and the effect on the world and our general outlook, but then I got tired. My brain was shutting down. But very plainly, I watched this movie yesterday, about facebook founders. One emotion I felt when i left the cinema was jealousy!. Hmm, Yeah. I told my friend I wished I was the one who thought of and created facebook. But mm..its not that bad.lol. I was disgusted by the animosity that developed between friends because of such a fickle thing as money..sigh, Human nature. Overall, It was an OK movie.

Book

I gave my friend my Fela book on Monday, and while reading on the tube, he almost missed his stop. The book is THAT good. You will be doing yourself a great disservice if you don't read it, HONESTLY! I don't agree with all the ideology presented there, but I think the most important, A cry for Nigerians, A cry for Africans to WAKE UP can be felt and agreed with.....

Herbs

I also caught a cold on Monday, I saw my friend off, and I wasn't prepared for the biting conditions. I got home and started wheezing, sneezing, coughing..I could hardly sleep. The next morning..yesterday, no one told me to go take a clove of garlic. I also made a Cough syrup, chopped and mashed garlic mixed with honey, which is left for some time, works WONDERS. This cough didn't see the light of today. I shared it on Twitter (Power of social network) and one of my followers decided to try, she called it my Babalawo thingz..ordinary garlic and honey o! LOL Anyways, I will wait to hear her verdict tomorrow, but Garlic is very potent #thatisall

Nanowrimo

So............somehow everything came together yesterday! I'd been thinking of what to write, of course I knew the direction I wanted to go in, but It didn't still seem alive to me. Yesterday I had a friend over, and we talked about several things. It all began to come together in my head the things I should write about, the way i should write and  eureka! I have a story. It may be nothing by some so-called standards but I need to start somewhere, We Nigerians need to start somewhere, by telling our stories how it actually was, not the way the 'White' man has painted it and spread for the whole world to believe.

It's really hard to think for us that came from a civilization of the Egyptians could have gone from that to nothing. Thankfully the truth is beginning to come out and hopefully, people would begin to embrace the truth. It is always difficult to come in from no where and try to change someone's conviction about something. The illustration I always use is the Cow and Goat. If for years a group of people have been told that A Cow is a Goat, How dare you come and tell them that the animal they call Goat, is really just a Cow. Convictions are hard to break, but there is a certain power in Stories, Literature and Entertainment as a whole.

Anyways I'm going to look for more books, I could use for my story. I would start writing now, but reading is never a wasted effort ^_^. I also need focuuuuuuuuuuss.

On another hand I've been having some weird dreams about a Japanese prince...talking about hearing his own side of the story, perhaps its just my recent readings and the whole 'story' thing that has triggered this, but could there be more to it? Wash at for Part Two!!!! lol.

Cheers!

Bloody Vampires!

No!, not these ones...Aaliyah still managed to look pretty though.
I doubt most people, remember these...

(Courtesy: The Nigerian Nostalgia 1960-1980s project on Facebook)

They are posters from the Anti-Malaria campaign in Nigeria of 1962, Imagine that. An issue we are still fighting tooth and nail. I have been struck uncountable (I could probably count them, but..you get the picture) times by this disease, transmitted by the Queen specie and fought by several 'Quines.
Recently, I was involved in a discussion which was started by a friend, who wrote this

Dear Bill Gates,
If you really care about eradicating malaria in Africa, why not select a small tropical African town and work very hard until malaria is completely eradicated from that town? That will bring us much closer to solving the problem than a thousand speeches about how much you care, or a million donations to professional non-profits who have never actually solved any problems.
You're welcome. :-)

It triggered lots of opinions and solutions towards the issue. My stance has been mainly eradication of the the specie. Firstly by destroying breeding places. I think it is as simple as that. But knowing the kind of poverty people are knee deep in, and the consequent effect this has on the areas they live, I shake my head, this may be too much to ask. I was totally against some ideas, which were hinged on using computers to motivate people and what not, Someone who hasn't eaten where is he going to see computer??. Someone compared it to the weight issues abroad and how the internet helped people lose weight, C'mon!! Anyway as usual, my love for analogies didn't escape here. This is the way I see the Mosquito issue and what has been done so far about it.

This issue is like a house built on a very bad foundation in Lekki. The house begins to have cracks and the roof, holes. People are called in to patch the house and the owners are happy. After a while more patching of the roof and cementing over the cracks. One time a brand new roof is even fitted. The owners are enlightened that their house is on a bad foundation and could collapse any time. If there is any sign of rumble they should run out but in the meantime call people to help patch and cement if they see any faults.
One day, the house collapses and kills the whole family because they were fast asleep.

Hopefully our case wouldn't get so dire. But the necessary things have to come first, a good environment to live in (for starters) is paramount.

The Best place to meet a 'Mate'

A friend swears today that I will marry a guy I met on the internet and he will be there for my wedding. 'Probably' I told him, I also had to laugh then and we went into a discussion of marriage, weddings and the love we share ^_^ lol.
It was only a while ago that I was thinking up what to post today, that it came to me that I had read an article somewhere which asked 'Where is the best place to find a mate' . There's something funny in my head when someone says 'mate' I instantly think 'Animal Kingdom'...But the responses were really funny. Some said if you are in the States, ''go to a harvard business school conference...there you will meet fine bobos and sisis with bright prospects. never fails!'' very funny. Many locations, like the church, work, weddings, library, even clubs were mentioned. I decided to google to see what I could find.
According to

(1) Work (2) Health Clubs (3) Church (4) Homes and parties of mutual friends (5) Weddings (6) Conferences and Conventions (7) Social and Community Organizations (8) Public Transportation - Bus Stops,Train Stations, Airports (9) Laundromats (10) Supermarkets

For me, I couldn't be bothered to go out normally but,
Work - I have worked around attractive young men, but they were mostly 'taken' so, severely off my sights, I only had one married guy, who still claims love for me even now after 2yrs so interested in me. I don't like the idea to be honest.
Health Clubs - Maybe I need to google and find them ASAP! lol
Church - I always feel weird when I am approached in church on this matter, one reason I don't go to the same church more than twice in a row, Infact I stopped going to church altogether (jking) but yeah, it erks me, but i know its very possible.
Homes and Parties of friends - Hmm, but I wouldn't go to a party just like that, haven't been to a house party since I was a teenager (ok ok...still trying to remember)
Weddings - I don't attend weddings, my mum used to say, 'If you don't attend other people's weddings who will attend yours?' Well it works for me! 'cause I don't want every T, D and H at mine! I only attended two weddings in more than ten years, My sisters' and my friend, where I was on her train, Those are the only exceptions I make.
Conferences and Conventions - Just like the Harvard thing.lol, Hmm..I don't like large crowds, I could only go with a group of people and I would be extremely businesslike here, In fact you go fear my face, I doubt any guy would be sizing me up! lol
Social and Community Organizations - A bit more chill than the above, I actually wouldn't mind.
Public Transportation - I think of Nigeria, and I'm filled with laughter. Well I have locked eyes with a few guys, exchanged smiles even said a few words. This one could be quite romantic ^_^
Laundromats - I don't go there, I actually wanted to go once, but I postponed it like no tomorrow, I just couldn't be bothered meeeehn.
Supermarket - If He offers to pay for my monthly shopping, why not! if not, No can do! hehe. Honestly, I would dislike being approached here, It could be nice, who knows!

Anyhow, I do know I’ve met the best men (mate material.lol) so far in my life ONLINE! lol! I spend lots of my time on here so why not, and it wasn’t at any dating site..pls I can’t spend any money, I’m not that desperate.lol. And none of us were ‘looking’ But me I can’t date anyone I haven’t actually seen or interacted with physically. The ones I got to meet physically so far, have been really great guys (some) but not just for me :) . Still hoping to meet one very awesome guy next month, fingers crossed.hehe
Therefore! The best place you can meet your ‘mate’ is where people are! and You can meet people ANYWHERE, online or offline. If they will be your mate consequently...depends on who they are, and not where you met them. It depends on your compatibility and level of commitment, not location.

It's even in my cooking!

It is no secret that I do not like cooking, on any normal day. The whole process annoys me. You spend nothing less than 30mins to make food that will be consumed in less than 15mins, and some portions ending up in the trash bin. I've always told myself that cooking, for me, must transcend cooking to just satisfy hunger. If it is to satisfy hunger, Fast food is the BEST option, only grugdingly would I cook if I am DYING of hunger, and I have no money to buy fastfood.

It was only recently I began to see the similarities between my relationship with cooking and my relationship with God./nature of man. People think that its inherent for man to do good, If so? what is making us do bad? People think that it should be inherent for a Woman to like cooking and babies and all that jazz, but I don't like cooking and I know some people who do not like babies.lol. Therefore, Just like I strive to cook, people strive to do good, It really doesn't come natural. People would default like me, as I default to buying fastfood, they default to do things which would bring instant rewards. Take for instance the armed robber, for him it is easier to steal other peoples things to get things for himself, in other words, Doing bad does seem to have plenty rewards Palsm 73.

WHY would I cook at all?

Cooking, just like doing good (whatever you define good to be, like cooking.lol) whether you like it or not, has rewards. Even though the reward is simply satisfing hunger or feeling good about yourself, there is something reasonable that comes out of it. It is likely not instant! and most times you only do it for other people (albeit grudgingly sometimes) but to a large extent, these other people become happy.

The Parallel: Why would we do good as Christians?

I love this man, I love and trust him very much with all my heart and soul, and I know he loves me back, not just because of what he says, but mostly because of what he has done, his actions. “A tiger does not proclaim its tigritude. It pounces.” - wole soyinka. I also know, through our interaction and relationship that he LOVES banga soup..As in, its not funny!.Anywhere He goes he must eat banga soup. Europe, Asia, Australasia, the Caribbean, America. He must find that soup and eat it! it is that bad!. And this Man now lives with me, we are committed (married), in love, its been great. This man LOVES this banga soup, and I don't like cooking. I will learn how to cook this soup for him, deliberately and with intent, because I know he LOVES it and it will make him happy. Obviously the first time I make it, It can't be perfect, and as I do it more often, because he Loves it, I would only get better. If someone else tells me to make the soup for them, I am 90% likely not to make it especially if there's nothing for me to gain. But given that its my Man's best soup, for him, it is 100% likely that I will make it. Ofcourse even if I don't cook this soup,, My man won't love me less, I guess it would just be disappointing to him..Imagine! lol.

Take a minute to think this through and see how this relates to the relationship with God, His love and how our response should be to him. You really can't claim to love or trust someone if you cannot do what they say or take actions towards the things they love, what an uncomfortable relationship that would be!
For now I'm off to cook some soup ;D

Wetin Concern Gorimapa with Shower Cap??

This is a loaded Rhetoric, It makes me laugh, but more so than that, It lends truth to the current state of our world. When people try to take on things that make no difference to them, but constitute a waste of resources and subsequent discomfort, even though they may not admit! Hilarious
the Lesson is, Don't Do it because others are DOing it!

Are you a Black Women?

I don't believe in Race, but I believe in cultures, in memes, In conditioning and the likes. I believe in the inherent wickedness of man. I also believe that we all are from Africa. It is quite unfortunate the things that have happened, but it is up to those who will allow themselves think and re-write these stories to lead us on a new path.

Slavery has been a part of Humankind since time was born, it's in man's nature..the want to dominate, to be fearful of anything that seems bigger or better. Slavery of the kind which crossed oceans, has been the most talked about, but people forget that Slavery occured in every area of this world.

The problem with Slavery is not the work that is done, even sons can do that. The problem is that people are taught/conditioned to hate themselves, to deny/hate their own Identity and to see themselves ONLY in the terms of the Slavemaster. This is MENTAL SLAVERY.

First you get a NEW NAME, everyone knows the power in Names, 'Black' 'coloured' 'Brown' 'stupid' 'Nigger' 'Lazy'and whatever they come up with . Then gradually everything you knew is ERASED! This form of slavery is the most powerful because you feel no pain! you would tell a mental slave they are slaves but they will never agree. You only go to a Doctor if you agree that you are unwell. If someone is beaten and forced to wear chains, they will resist. But how can you resist something you can't feel?? There is a popular 'saying' which comes to mind, ''If two people call you a horse, you may want to stop and think about it. If three people call you a horse you may want to start shopping for a saddle". You conform to what others (Because for some reason there is truth in numbers, *sigh ) have called you and to every characteristic of that thing.
But we have Brains, We can think, it all starts with the simple WHY? something that we are born with, we need to study kids..they always ask WHY and that is where learning begins. YOU can ask, WHY?? WHAT?  USE IT!
Back to the question  'Are you a Black women?'  I will excuse your 'blunder' because you don't seem to be a native English speaker but No, sweetie..I'm Not.
If you really need to describe me, a deep ochre tone is more suitable, and culturally I am Nigerian

011110

The number palindrome, this is a significant day for me, and perhaps millions of the world population, Some were born and some died. I am glad to be among the living. My sister also gave birth to a baby girl in the wee hours of the day, bless. At that time, on my own side of the world, I had passed through an experience both sordid and enlightening.

In true INFJ style, I don't like confrontations, and I would avoid it as much as possible, 'cause I know depending on the level, things may never go back to how they were.. but what do you do when someone puts it on you. It's my initial reaction to resist or get stubborn about it. Alas, I was dealing with the wrong person. It hurt me just thinking about the implications of things said, and I couldn't hold back the tears. Which further escalated the whole brouhaha. Anyways, I know I'm hard hearted to an extent, I wasn't always this way, but life has made me so. Some may argue that I haven't any experience, but I have seen with my own two eyes what Humans can do to Humans.

I cried a whole lot, and while still recovering from my 'flu' wasn't a good look. Everything I wanted to say sounded better in my head, but I just couldn't communicate effectively the way I felt, because my state of mind was hurt and very torn.

Anyway, I do understand that a whole lot of what happened was my fault, If i was serious enough, I wouldn't even be in the vincinity in the first place, for such to happen. I can only hope that it never does take place again, that I may look upon this day and just laugh and perhaps not remember..lol. I realise it's possible to love someone without liking them. Now I know a couple, I don't like.

Perfection?!

Happy 'lloween

In the true spirit of the day, it's been nightmarish for me. The day started all wrong, I woke up SICK. The bad cold that refused to go away and some added symptoms. All my plans went through the window. It ended up with me, meeting the Housemate from hell...waiting for a bus in the biting cold of the Toon which was 20mins late!, I ended up incoveniencing someone. I also had to travel down south. The train was full and grossly disappointing, The only wise thing I did was to sit close to the bar, because the trolleys were off duty. It was like all the bus drivers I was to get in contact with today, were set up to spoil things for me. Almost home, I decide to take a bus which would bring me closer home because of the luggage I had, only to be standing there waiting to get on and the bus driver says, NO more, No more?!! Pissssed. I had to drag  my case through the mud and grass because I wouldn't wait in the cold 20mins for the next one, and theres no guarantee that that bus drivers head would be correct.

Home sweet home! I tell my aunt, my predicament, and she advises to take raw red onion, lemon and honey. apparently I was supposed to eat the onion like an apple. When my uncle came home, I was forced to eat the onion like that, It is the most horrible thing i've ever done...i also had to eat garlic and an apple after, I say this is the hottest thing ever! but thankfully, Here I am about to go to sleep, feeling way better! The spirit of Good has conquered evil!! Hopefully all the garlic I've eaten will repel any principality and power..

But I still gotta say, HAPPY 'LLOWEEN..(dressed up as a teletubby yesterday though.lol)

Our House, The Hotel.

'You have to sleep in the other room' these were familiar words we grew up with. Most times, the 'other room'  was the living room. There was a hardly a time, where we lived in our house, as a nuclear family, alone. For as long as I can remember there were always people, relatives, helps, uncles, cousins..and so on, living with us.and the random..well not totally random stranger who my parents..usually one of them at a time, decided to help.

The First Hotel was a three bedroom 'government' apartment in V.I, which had two floors, a living room and a 'make-shift' lobby/childrens room on the top floor. For the period we lived here, I can't remember us being asked to sleep elsewhere but we had auntys and 'helps' with us. I still have pictures from my 1st year brtday which i vaguely remember.(Believe it or not! lol) Some vivid memories like when one of our Auntys..my mums younger sister. punished me for something I really can't remember. She asked me to drink about 10 bottles of water, the bottles were glass and had different colours. One of my chores then as a Nursery school student was to fill the bottles and put in the fridge. When I was asked to kneel and drink the water, I thought it was a piece of cake, But on the second bottle, my tummy had swollen, it was like I had kwashiokor. I begged for mercy.

The Second  Hotel, tucked away in an 'Estate' on the Mainland, what comes to mind is the Nigerian remix of the song 'Umbrella' It was a four bedroom flat with just a little living room, I remember spending some nights sprawled on the couch here. In the 3-year period we lived there, We had our Grandma who had one room solely to herself, she also took care of my little sister, My aunt was there too. A male relative ('Uncle') who constantly had some issues with my older sisters shared a room with my brother who was at Uni then and usually came every now and then. Life here was dogged by NEPA-less nights, mosquitos, Borehole issues and what not. It was a great time though my 'coming-of-age'

The Third Hotel, All the way in the capital city of Abuja. This was by far the most spacious house, and is basically GRAND compared to all the others. I honestly cannot even give a number of the people who have passed through this hotel. It was in this house, my sisters and I thought about it and said Honestly, this is *insert surname* Hotel. The house has Five bedrooms and a 'Boys-quarter' But i have spent a lot of time in the sitting room (Luckily there were two of them). There have been diffrent kinds of people here (The good, the bad, the witch, Beauty and the Ugly), but the only time I remember my mum complain was when she said of a relative who had spent about two years and was working 'Common toothpaste, he cannot even buy!' and she spoke of a female 'Who does she expect to wash her plates??' Other than that, Its been a free for all. as long as you weren't lazy, lying, stealing or being a 'principality'

As kids, to us it was just fun and games, As teenagers we didnt find it funny a lot of times. But as we began to grow older. Certain things began to click..Well for me, it did. I have had to spend time in other people's homes, over the course of my education. While we lived in Abuja, I was still at boarding school in Lagos. But during Mid-term breaks, There was no way I was going to Abuja for the three to four days it was, so I had to put up with Family-Friends and Relatives...I have experienced good and very bad times, but not as bad as my friend in the same plight who got molested by a relative who was even a Pastor...

Even right now, I have been staying with my 'Aunt' and 'Uncle' who are the nicest people ever, for the past one month. My Uncle once said 'Staying with people is probably one of the most difficult things to do' My friends have really bad narrations of their ordeals staying with people and it is just a sad cycle. It always pays to treat people with decency and dignity, respect others as Human beings. You don't know where you or yours would end up tomorrow. Treat people the way, you would like to be treated. These are some of the things I have learnt from these episodes of my life.

From Estonia With Love...

I do not like to take part in activities, which leave no room for learning or ........free food. Most things I do, I try to learn something from, even when I am sat there in my housecoat on the couch just listening to Carl Orff wafting from my Logitech surround system.
Yesterday, I had just opened my eyes to the bright lights of  the new day at about 12:30am when my friend handed me her phone to read the text inviting us to a Concert at an Apostolic church all the way in Spital Tongues, quite a distance from where we stayed. I told her, no problem! There's always free food at these churches after the service, It's worth it, Lets go there!

Fast Forward to about 5pm, we both scrambled for the bathroom, because we had to make the 6:56pm bus, If not, we would be real late for the service, and here there is no African Time. Thanks to the flats my friend wore, she ran down to the bus to stall the driver, while I managed rapid hops in my favourite brown ankle boots to the bus. Then I saw the bus move, oh no! Luckily it was the nice man driving, not the hard-nosed lady who frankly wouldn't give a 'damn' Even if I had blood gushing from my head, 6:56 was 6:56!
While in the bus we encountered an 'Oyinbo' speaking proper Niger-Delta pidgin, I told my friend that the colour of the baby in buggy just in front of the woman would be the key to our questions but my friend proceeded to confront the woman, who told the person she was on the phone with 'I no know why this girl come shine her eyes o, she dey see oyinbo speak pidgin, Lawl lawl lawl' and yeap! the baby was 'brown' We were highly amused, got off the bus at our stop and walked down to the church amidst a throng of people walking animatedly towards St James Park for the big game! hopefully the Army would win, draw or not lose too badly I thought Afterall, one of the key player's father was the pastor of the church we were going to!

The service had already started! and we were only a few seconds late. Well we managed to find a seat before the joint 'Amen', Soon after, the choir was introduced and proceeded to sing various songs, they opened with a John 3:16 number which they sang both in Estonian and English, I absolutely loved it! In between songs some members gave testimonies which introduced the next song. A 15yr old, the youngest of the choir talked about having to read her bible in secret, because her parents were staunch Atheist, but an accident she was involved in where she lost her best friend, proved a turning point in her parents life, she spoke about the calm, God gave her after her many questions and everything. Another guy spoke about how on his 15th birthday, They waited for his dad to come home for the party, but he never came..because he had been killed in an Accident, caused by a 17yr old without even a drivers license. Somehow, God gave him strength and peace. It was all so touching and a big blessing to me. Sometimes we get so caught up in the minute things, but its necessary to step back and remind ourselves that God has a plan.

After the song ministration, the founder of the choir, a man who could only speak Estonian and father to about three children in the choir gave a summary of how life had been in Estonia and the way it is now. People had lived in fear because of the control the Soviet had over the country then. The complete oppression that was over all the peoples. He talked about how one day when the Russians sent tanks to destroy people who were singing and praising God and some parts of the country. The leaders who were Atheist had to get on the radio to tell everyone in the country to start praying, somehow, the tanks turned and went back to Russia! And then  Independence from the Soviet Union was pushed when 2 million people linked hands ttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baltic_Way they sang songs and prayed for the release of their countries. So much more was said, but the pastor who preached the word summarized it all beautifully.
One could be 'free' from oppression of physical things, Those countries free from Soviet rule, The UK, free from the seeming occupation of the Germans, Nigerians free from colonial rule, free from all sorts of forces. All these are wonderful, but as the Estonian Man said, When the country was free from Soviet rule, people began to worship another god, riches and wealth which still signifies Slavery. True freedom could only come in Jesus Christ 'Who the Son sets free is free indeed!'

It was such a wonderful time! There was so much love in the room, I was so glad we went. Honestly the Jollof Rice (watered down because of the Oyinbos) had nothing to do with it...err, maybe slightly...there were drinks, puff-puff and fruits. It was a nice closure to everything. When I learnt through my Twitter page that the Army had been beaten Four to Nil, I felt apprehensive, didn't want to go home in the midst of a billion angry fans. Thankfully, the heavens saw it fit to cry quite heavily for the Army which made the pastor drop my friend and I at our home!

Sweet.

Books that must be Read pt.1

There are two books, you must read before this year runs out, very influential, for me. I would write summaries when I have the time. These books are the thinking man's kind of books. If you don't want to think please don't bother picking them up, go to your local bookstore and search for Nora Roberts, or something like that

Mere Christianity by C.S.Lewis

Fela: This Bitch of a Life by Carlos Moore

It's Limbo!

So, I'm at the point where I am still officially a student but technically not. I am looking for proper jobs, which in turn will bring in proper cash. The only problem is that 9 to 5's hold nothing for me, I dread it. I am applying for jobs and treating myself to a holiday. While there's an offer, it's not yet in the bag so all I do at home now, is clean and cook where necessary. I decided to volunteer on Wednesdays at the church i recently started going to, so as to get out of the house once in a while. It's been nice so far meeting people from different nationalities, and lifestyles. I have also tried to get on with my projects but they haven't been easy. Everyday I try to build myself in one aspect or the other.

I usually don't have 'relationship' issues, but eeeh, the last few weeks have been 'icky'. My sister going back 'Home', opened another chapter in another book of my life, I met someone, with whom things aren't as they seem.I miss her though, Its a pity she didn't get to see as much as I'd have liked, but she'd be back soon.
Also, I got two new prescription frames, One a designer and the second Vintage! all thanks to my aunt *muah*.i feel so fly, ha!lol

Travelled up north, went for a wedding on Saturday, It was really nice, lovely couple, lovely location, great LIVE music, food that got better and better and the best chocolate cake I've ever eaten! of-course over a glass of champagne..tres classy. My kind of wedding!
Got to attend a concert by 'Midnight Crew' I wonder where they got their name from, but it sounds like something Aro Meta would call themselves. It's all well and good, the music was great, more so than I imagined.

I have learnt lots over the weeks, about Love, Life, Cooking, Food, Sleep, Prayer, Life's Troubles, The Essential things, Kindness, God e.t.c
It's a brand new week today, and hopefully I will continue in my bid, to develop things out of nothing, relax my mind over lots of issues. Call everyone that needs to be called (I tend to neglect people in this regard way too much, if you aren't online, there's a huge chance of not being in communication these days..bad, I know). See friends, See a movie, basically enjoy life as it comes, even though I am in Limbo! it could have been Hell you know :D

The Mrs Club! Pt.1

So my friends are convinced I have Marriage very strongly on my mind. Well as a female, the thought of being a Mrs doesnt venture too far from your mind, and as you grow 'younger' some unseen and seen forces, tend to drive you towards achieving the 'goal' and you have to make up your mind, For me? or Not for me?.

That being said, They claim it's all I have been tweeting about recently 'This older guy, I wanna get married, I don't wanna get married, I wanna marry an Alhaji, I wanna marry at 35'  'Marry Marry, Marry' in the words of one of them. It sure made me laugh but it's not all true ofcourse. Well at this point why shouldn't it be though. I have four guys who would marry me tomorrow, if i just made a call now and said OK. And why not...I don't give myself enough credit. because I am a complete wife material (A whole 5.6 inches of the stuff) like one of my friends suggested.lol. I cook well enough, I love cleaning, I repair my own computer and electronic gadgets I bargain well, I don't spend money too much(I know how to save), I know what it means to Love, I have a Masters, I am smart, I have great genes e.t.c..So yeah why not??

Someone once said 'Any Idiot can get married' and that's the truth. I honestly believe it is not something everyone has to do, neither is it something that starts at the Church altar or the court room.

In the words of C.S Lewis
'Love is a deep unity, maintained by the will and deliberately strengthened by habit; reinforced by (in Christian marriages) the grace which both partners ask, and receive, from God'

People have to be deliberate in their choice and its a matter of sticking with it (Will). It is definitely something you do with both eyes open.

In the words of Fela Kuti,

'Marriage is a solidarity agreement entered into as individuals, in a quest for completeness. An intimate locus where social concerns and physical pleasure are fused. Not a divinely ordained and sealed package of Do's and Don'ts, it is about bonds forged around mutual feelings, a shared vision and the pooling together of resources to fulfill common objectives'

This is what people need to understand, I Once asked a question on twitter, If one can make marriage vows on the altar, why can't they make the same in their house? Does the number of people watching contribute to how far or how strong the commitment to each other is?

Meanwhile, me, I am just chilling for the best man, worthy enough to make this life-long commitment to. If I find none, my life won't be less meaningful or unhappy. It is MY life and I would live it to the best I can.
