The Ransom was Paid!

I sat there in my heartache, cold, without much to survive on. Constantly prodded, teased and insulted, I never knew I could escape. In short, I had lost all hope.
But, my heart cried out, it did, even when I had thought I had lost it all. I was answered. Indeed I was.

We don't think about it so much, but we are saved like someone who was kidnapped and has a ransomed paid for them. The kidnapped person cannot save themselves, so us in our sin.

The psalmist cries out

"Rise up! Help us! Ransom us because of your unfailing love" Psalm 44:26

not because we deserve it, but because of love that never fails...The psalmist knew that we could not do it ourselves;

"Yet they cannot redeem themselves from death by paying a ransom to God" Psalm 49:7

Elihu, one of Job's friend makes the statement, what if there was someone that could rescue us, what would happen?...

“But if an angel from heaven appears—
a special messenger to intercede for a person
and declare that he is upright—

he will be gracious and say,
‘Rescue him from the grave,
for I have found a ransom for his life.’
Then his body will become as healthy as a child’s,
firm and youthful again" Job 33

We then learn the good news that Jesus is our ransom!

"God chose him as your ransom long before the world began, but now in these last days he has been revealed for your sake" 1 Peter 1:20
"For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45
"For you know that God paid "a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value." 1 Peter 1:18

Oh what Joy, and Love for ever!!!

"He ransoms me and keeps me safe from the battle waged against me, though many still oppose me" Psalms 55:18
"I will shout for joy and sing your praises, for you have ransomed me" Psalms 71:23

"He has paid a full ransom for his people. He has guaranteed his covenant with them forever. What a holy, awe-inspiring name he has!" Psalm 111:9

"And they sang a new song with these words: “You are worthy to take the scroll and break its seals and open it. For you were slaughtered, and your blood has ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation" Rev 5:9

What does John 15 really tell us

I must have read this passage a hundred times. The imagery is clearly very interesting but it only clicked recently after having a chat about this passage and what it really means. When we read a book one must always read within context, so who exactly was Jesus talking to in John 15 and why, let's delve in.

It really starts from John 13. Jesus was talking to his disciples at the 'Last Supper' These disciples were Jews. We tend to forget that most of Jesus message was aimed at the Jews. The imagery of the vine is one that Jews who read the scriptures would have been familiar with (Isaiah 5, Ezekiel 15). Also, Judas Iscariot left the meeting to carry out his plan. So this message was very important in the light of everything happening..
“I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.
Jesus was telling his disciples that He was the The True Vine, in contrast to the useless vine which Israel became. Jesus states that He is the source of life, and anyone who doesn't stay/dwell in him, won't have life, won't have the Holy Spirit, therefore cannot bear fruit. If the Jews who already know about God, know about the Messiah don't stay in the truth and come to believe in Jesus they certainly have no part in the vine. Judas was a stark example, he looked like a disciple, he talked like a disciple but he wasn't really connected to the vine! and these people will be exposed at the end of the day
Jesus goes further to make it clearer.

“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. 10 When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. 11 I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! 12 This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. 13 There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. 16 You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. 17 This is my command: Love each other

We need to ask ourselves as Christians, what do we really believe? why are we Christian? If we are Christian for any other reason than, believing in, trusting the finished work of Jesus Christ, the Gospel, we need to repent and connect to the true vine. Looking like a Christian, walking like a Christian and talking like a Christian will get us no where.
Only those who are trusting in Jesus for life (John 3:16) are truly connected to the vine and they now have the power through the Holy Spirit to love truly.

On Gay Marriage

Once upon a time my views were clear cut. They are still clear cut but largely irrelevant. A couple of questions loom large in my brain. Does Marriage save? Does Marriage make you holy? Does the law save? Does the law make people holy? If you are a Christian, you need to answer these seriously.
If it doesn't, what the fuss? If it does, carry on.

The Ugly Truth

I'd been thinking of getting my teeth fixed, so I went for a free consultation to check out what could be done and at what cost. At the end of the consult, the doctor told me 'I hope I didn't make you feel bad' why? I had only gone to check my teeth and then I was told I had a facial deformity. I had suspected this before and naturally began to feel sorry for myself, but even much more, it made me begin to think about beauty and ugliness in a new way.

People like the platitude that goes 'Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder' however there are beauties and uglies that lie in the eyes of ALL beholders. This has nothing to do with certain races or certain features on a body or face. It is all about genetics; bone structure, cultural elements and mechanical incidents.

My worldview begins with God creating the world and sin corrupting creation. In light of this, it makes a lot of sense, when I consider that sin actually makes us ugly, both inside and outside. God's love and grace heals both in His time. God saves the spirit which is twisted, ugly and only tending to death and will allow this corrupted body to die, allowing us to be raised in new bodies.God also saves the corrupted body, through miraculous healings and the intelligence of Doctors to correct some of these conditions.

From my consultation and further research I made, even if you don't share my worldview, it is easy to see that the people we would choose as being ugly or not very fine, perhaps plain, would have one deformity or the other. These deformities are usually passed down by genetic accident, e.g I inherited my dad's deformity but my other sisters didn't) Some obviously are caused by mechanical injury, blows, fire, car accidents e.t.c.

Understanding all of this, makes me see ugliness/beauty in a new light. None of us chose our faces or bodies when we were born. Most of us did not choose to be in accidents that deform us neither to be born into cultures which do so. Therefore it begs us to be kind to one another. It certainly would not get rid of the ugliness but it will stop you from being ugly. It's not about looking beyond the ugliness, which you can't but welcoming it knowing that in the end, age and time will deal with us all accordingly.

As someone who believes in Christ, It makes me hate sin much more, it makes me long for an incorruptible world, one which we have been promised. The most wonderful thing is despite all these imperfections, we are still the same in value, we call some of these imperfections quirks, and people even love us for these particular flaws. This is what you get with a GOOD, Wonderfully and Fearfully made product :)

Quick Questions

Will you correct your deformity?

The Doctor told me I would have to lose about 8 of my teeth and then break my bones to fuse things together properly. OMG. I don't think I'm going to risk this especially in the light of what I know. Many have done it and the change is really remarkable, but there is no guarantee I would like my new face, no matter how fine it is :)

How do I acknowledge ugliness

Humans know right from wrong. We will always naturally gravitate to what gives us the most pleasure, be it in what we see, hear, taste. One thing I try to keep at the back of my mind is, 'we did not create our looks' It could have been anyone. If health is being affected, then encourage them to get these conditions corrected. Also, never forget that beauty on the inside is much more sustaining and attractive in the long run.

A Festival of Slaps

Ok, so I thought this video below was very funny. So funny that it made tears run down my cheeks. If it doesn't make you laugh, then we can't be friends.

A week ago, I heard about another 'festival of slaps' video, and was keen to see what it was all about. I heard it involved 'Bishop' Oyedepo, I knew this was not going to make me laugh given his past records and I was right.

Not only did I not laugh, I felt angry. So angry it made tears run down my cheeks. If it doesn't make you sad, then you can't be human.

I am sad about Ignorance, one which led her to that church.
I am angry that this man could assault someone and in public then go scot-free. Not only preaching a self-centered gospel but living in that way. It makes me boil.

What can We do?
Educate People, Take a Stand against such and Pray!

How to Expose Fake Prophets

The other day, A TV programme showed how fake pastors extract monies from people and conduct fake healing sessions, its a sad thing but its not out of this world. I think nothing new was exposed on the programme and it was just a waste of time, energy and effort, it was quite boring. The bible has exact predictions on what these people are, Vicious Wolves!  it calls them. If only those who claim to be Christians would read the bible more or actually desire a stronger relationship with God would we be able to discern EASILY this fakeness. ''Only by being thoroughly familiar with the truth will we be able to recognize a counterfeit.''

  • 2 Peter 2 talks specifically about these false preachers.
  • 2 Corinthians 11
  • Colossians 2 Warns about thinking to Christ! not Man and Man's rules
  • Hebrews 13
  • 2 Timothy 4:1 - 4
  • Matthew 7 : 15 - 23
I particularly like this article, because we have a responsibility to protect ourselves and others from the tactics of these wicked people

So, how do we protect ourselves?
  • Don't Believe Anyone Who Ignores, Or Disagrees With, God's Word
About 30 years ago, I recall hearing a preacher bellowing, "Don't believe me, believe your Bible." The honest logic of that man's statement cannot be refuted or argued with. Humans can be, or go, wrong. God's Word will never fail you, because God will never fail you.
"Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away." (Luke 21:33)
  • Prove All Things
Never just take someone's word as "gospel," regardless of how educated or exalted they may be, or appear to be. True Christian servants ("minister" means servant, "apostle" means messenger, "evangelist" means announcer) are not offended if you check to see if what they say is correct, or question them if you find something that you think is wrong. In fact, they expect you to do so:
"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are of God; for many false prophets have gone out into the world." (1 John 4:1 RSV)
"test everything; hold fast what is good." (1 Thessalonians 5:21 RSV)
  • Know Your Bible
Familiarity with the Scriptures, all of the Scriptures, is a vital defense. Amazing as it may seem, many Christian-professing people actually have not read all of The Bible at least one time. Once each year should be the minimum for everyone.
Daily Bible Study has an easy and enjoyable daily Bible reading plan, requiring only a few minutes each day, that covers the entire Bible in 1 year. See 1 Year Reading Plan
  • Follow Christ, Obey God
God's true servants want you to obey God, not them. Follow them only if they follow Christ.
"For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in His steps." (1 Peter 2:21 RSV)
"But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ ... and the head of Christ is God." (1 Corinthians 11:3 RSV)
  • Beware Of "Miracles"
While in the end time God's true prophets will perform great miracles (see The Two Witnesses and Down Without A Fight?), there will also be great Satan-empowered "miracles" which will deceive many:
"It works great signs, even making fire come down from heaven to earth in the sight of men; and by the signs which it is allowed to work in the presence of the beast, it deceives those who dwell on earth, bidding them make an image for the beast which was wounded by the sword and yet lived" (Revelation 13:13-14 RSV)
  • "Prophet" Doesn't Mean "Profit"
Money is of course necessary to pay for living and operating expenses, but acquiring great personal wealth from one's service to God cannot be justified. There are many honest and righteous ways of earning a lot of money. Christianity is not one of them.
In the Old Testament, Abraham was considered righteous by God (Galatians 3:6), and at the same time he became very wealthy (Genesis 13:2). But his personal wealth came from business activity. It wasn't given to Abraham as a way of worshipping God.
Later, the apostle Paul, a man who actually wrote a large part of the New Testament, although having to accept occasion help because of his difficult circumstances, worked whenever he could, as a tent maker, at the same time of his ministry (Acts 18:3).
According to Paul, "For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God's word; but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ." (2 Corinthians 2:17 RSV)
God's true servants are not interested in taking from you. They want to give to you, not worldly money that is quickly spent, but true wealth, the knowledge and understanding that will enable you to obtain the eternal spiritual riches that will last forever. God's true servants don't want your money. They want you to obey God.

Many Things in Life are Hard For Me

One thing I forgot to write in my post about Christian music, which I only realized is, how it helps take my eyes off me. I have been on a Kutless spree for the past two days. It was when I was listening to Grace and Love from their Kutless album that it just 'clicked'. This is not about feelings. Many times I don't feel like doing anything that looks remotely 'Christian' but there is this quiet yearning inside that leads me back to what I should be doing. Grace, I read recently is Love to the unresponsive. Most times as Human beings, we have to have people respond to our 'Love' if not we carry our Love and go somewhere else, but the ability to love people that can't even respond..that is outstanding. That God loves me through my rages, through my jealousy, through my laziness, through my corruption, It is amazing!

Kutless - Grace and Love

Many things in life are hard for me
Many things can pull us down
I don't understand why I do what I do
How could I take my eyes off you
After all You've done for me
And after all You've done for me

It's by Your grace and love I am saved
It's by Your grace and love You've forgiven me, hey
And by that love and grace, I'm amazed
It's by Your grace and love I am free
I am free

And it's by grace and love that I am free
I'll live with you eternally
I thank you Lord that I am free
I thank you Lord for loving me
I thank you Lord for dying upon the tree of Calvary
I thank you Lord for loving me
I thank you Lord for dying for me

Because it's by grace and love I am saved
It's by Your grace and love You've forgiven me, hey
And by that love and grace, I'm amazed
It's by Your grace and love I am free
I am free

Many things in life are hard for me
But by grace and love You've forgiven me
And by grace and love we are free

Some Gay people will go to Heaven

Before, I explain why. You have to agree with the terms I am using here.

One, Gay = Homosexual behaviour, Trans or perhaps any sexually deviant behaviour.
Two, Heaven = Where God is according to 'Christianity'

You have to believe in atleast the concept of both of them, to continue reading this. Whether people were born gay or not, is not the issue of this post. People could be born with the tendency to be gay, but you know its ultimately a choice. I believe sexuality is fluid, how you fulfill the urges is what really counts towards being acceptable or not, but we make our choices at the end of the day.

Why then will Gay people (some) go to heaven?

Romans 1:26-27: "For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence [sic] of their error which was meet."

I Corinthians 6: 9-10 ''Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men  nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God''

The first question to ask is why YOU think YOU will go to heaven. Your gossiping is not big enough to prevent you? or perhaps your lying, is a white form of it, so it doesn't really count? Your greediness? The meat you stole from the cooking pot? Are you telling me you are a perfect person now? Do you know that sin is in thoughts, words and actions? Do you think if God judged you based on that, you would pass the test? I didn't think so.

Facts:
Everyone comes short of the Holiness/Perfection of God (Romans 3:23) So I don't know how you think your behaviour is going to save you, saves you or saved you.

The Wages/Consequence of Sin = Death. (Romans 6: 23) This is why you need 'saving' because the result of your present life on earth, no matter how good you think you are, will only lead to death, because in sin you are separated from God. Thankfully, the second part says; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Sick people wouldn't go to the Doctor if they didn't think they were sick. If you don't think you are a 'sinner' forget about Jesus Christ, honestly.  He came for the sick, He came for sinners.   Until you accept that you sin according to what is written in Bible (If you claim Christianity), only then can you accept you are in need of saving and consequently accept the payment on your behalf (Jesus shedding His blood on the cross) and then being thankful for it.

Therefore...

A gay person who acknowledges his 'sickness' (and this is not even just about being 'gay' sexuality is just one aspect of our lives ) and seeks the 'Doctor' will be saved from the consequence of sin in its totality which is death. How you behave as a result of believing in Jesus, will be in response to the understanding of the love and grace that is shown towards you, by doing God's will ( “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven” Matthew 7:21; Luke 6:46). You honestly can't claim to trust in someone, and then they ask you to do something and you say no.

God sees the heart, unlike us who are quick to judge by outward appearances. But Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth will surely speak. There is a big difference between these two statements;

'I am gay and God loves me like this, there is nothing wrong in what I do' and
'I am gay and God loves me like this, but I realize God doesn't like the way I behave sometimes..'

One person, is repentant and the Other isn't. One is saying, I will do God's will, the other is saying I will do mine.
Now, tell me why the repentant One would not go to heaven when the Bible clearly says;

"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10: 11-13
''And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved'' Joel 2:32
''And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved'' Acts 2:21

Morality is Volatile

I don't know if people think at all, or they just try to find the easy way out or perhaps they just echo the thoughts and words of others. Whatever they do, many don't seem to understand that morals cannot be the basis of a judgment where all parties are not in agreement. Just this week I've heard people talk about moral rights, moral justification and what not when it comes to the vote and governance of a country..

What is Morality? Your sense of right or wrong, perhaps just yourself or in a group. Still you cannot project this unto someone else, except you all agreed in the first place what right and wrong was. If there is no standard of right and wrong, my morals really do not matter to someone else.

There is a standard in this world, whether we like it or not, but because of darkened minds and hardened hearts, insensitive or over-sensitive consciences, Morality has become variable. This is the reason why countries have laws. Because to one man, killing is his hobby, and to another it's a sin. But to make this fair for everyone, the people of a community need to agree whether killing is wrong or right, So if someone is found doing the opposite they can then be judged according to the laws laid down.

This is also the reason why Christianity is not based on Morality (I don't know about others). Christianity is based on an understanding as shown by the bible, an understanding of the plan of God for this world, and the need for redemption. No matter what your morals are, when you trust in the work of Jesus, when you believe in what was wrought by God, you live by that code of conduct (goes for some others). Whatever your morals were before, you'd have to put them aside and live by faith according to what your Father pleases.

The same goes for countries and communities, If you are born into a country with certain laws, you have to learn those laws put aside your morals, and live according to the laws of that land if not you will certainly be judged by the land if you go in the opposite direction. You can now see the futility of your morality.

Breaking John 3:16

John 3:16 – The Essence

It's hard to imagine a world like ours, without a beginning, without an end, and without a creator, It would just be senseless and void. But I believe there is a story behind us all being here.

'God so Loved the world'

God created the world designed it as lovingly as possible. In Genesis, it is written 'It was good'. He never stopped loving the world, even when Adam and Co disrupted their stay in the garden. This opened the world up to sin, and all became corrupt. People have since had to struggle with sins. The Israelites had to sacrifice goats and cows continuously just to say 'sorry', how tedious!
This can also be likened to the Israelites in Egypt, when God wanted to deliver them out of the hands of the Pharaoh, The Passover (Exodus 11-12). God telling a story of Love.

'That He sent His only begotten son'

God loved the world, but the world had done wrong, and since ‘wrong’ has consequences someone has to bear them. The world is basically in jail but there is an option for bail (because of Love). Someone has to come and pay the bail because a prisoner cannot bail him/herself out. For justice to be done,  the prisoner has to serve the complete punishment or someone else has to take the burden. In His love and mercy, Jesus was sent to ‘pay the bail’ and release the world from jail. The bail was the blood shed on the cross, which replaced the goats and cows which were not enough. ‘Without the shedding of blood, there cannot be forgiveness of sins’
Continuing the parallel story, God sent the Angel of death to deliver justice to the Israelites in Egypt out of his Love.

'that WHOSOEVER believes IN him'

People tend to confuse Believing in and Believing. Believing, is just acknowledging the Existence of something, while Believing IN, means to Trust in or Rely on something. And this phrase tells us, That EVERYONE (regardless of sex, age, gender, terminology, 'race', tribe, anything you can think of) who TRUSTS IN/ RELIES ON Jesus... Similarly Everyone who believes that Someone came to post bail for them. They just didn't believe that the person came to the police station/prison. But that the person actually posted bail, which could only mean one thing!! FREEDOM!

Basically, If someone posted bail for you, and you believe it, I doubt you will remain in Jail. You will run out screaming, shouting and thanking God. But anyone who doesn’t believe, even though bail has been posted, they will remain in Jail, because its incomprehensible to them.

In Egypt, The direction was if you believe the angel of Death was coming, regardless of whom you were (Israelite or Egyptian) and put the blood on your door (following the specific instructions), It will pass your house over. Israelites who didn't believe, had their homes visited, and damage done. It's as simple as that, amazing stuff. We also have our part to play in the process. We need to BELIEVE IN (Hearing and Doing).

'Will not Perish'

If you believe in/trust in/rely on Jesus, the wages (payment) of sin (death) is removed from over your head. Justice has been done, you are scot-free. Your slate as been wiped clean, you are released from jail! Nothing is held against you, no need to pay or (work) for anything, because someone has paid for you! Bless God.
The Israelites and Egyptians, who believed in the words of God, Their Sons DID NOT perish, what a blessing!

'But have everlasting life'

I am quite certain the opposite of Death is Life!! And to have it everlasting..wow!. Not only were our debts paid, but we had our account credited to the maximum, which means we could never go back to jail, regardless of what we do in future. We were not only released from jail, but also adopted into the family of the one who posted bail, What grace!! We are basically 'Born Again'
Same in Egypt, all those who were spared, woke up the next day to hear wailing though out the land, and I'm sure they felt 'born again' from the darkness of the previous night because they’d been spared.

How marvellous the Essence of our Faith, as simple as it is, still incomprehensible by many who feel they have to 'work it' out

The Grace and Love of God, Psalm 100:5 can be translated in different ways, but its message stays the same God's mercy and love is 'Forever', His Loving-kindness is 'Everlasting' and to (not some) ALL! Generations.

Peace! :)

The Essence

It was only until recently that it dawned on me, that someone could actually be a Christian without believing in Jesus. It is definitely a very misunderstood word. Where did it come from? The word "Christian" is found only three times in the Bible. All the instances of its occurrence are in the New Testament. The references at which one will find the words are: Acts 11:26; 26:28; 1 Peter 4:16. In Acts 11:26. The word 'Christian' comes from the Greek word "cristianos," as we would spell it in English. The ancient Greek word meant "a person belonging to, one who is the property of, or a slave of Christ." The disciples and all those who had chosen to 'follow' Jesus, were called this out of jest , In Acts 11, it says the Disciples were called Christian. They never went about calling themselves that but anyway it stuck.

What people don't realise is, words are just words, terms are just terms. The true Essence is believing in/trusting in/relying on Jesus. John 3:16, is perhaps one of the most popular verses. 'For God so loved the world, that He sent His only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believes IN him, shall not perish but have everlasting life'. This completely captures THE ESSENCE. It didn't say, WHOSOEVER acts like him, shall not perish... for example...'Christian' 'Christ-Like'. So today, we see so many Christians (Valid), who sadly, do not really believe. They do good works..but don't know the essence.

Mid-Week Mix

Sunday RANT

ok, so i had some friction with my dad over this Church issue, i just put it to him that i wanted to attend one near my house with my friend who was over for the weekend..ehhhh no! i was disobeying him. Anyhoo we ended up going there.

Got a lot of stares because of my natural hair and cat eye glasses.lol!
One woman actually came to meet i and my friend as we waited for the service to start outside, she said she liked my face and wanted to take a pic, but she had no camera. she left and came back asking for my autograph..Im like, sorry lady (amidst plenty laff) i am not a star/celeb. shes like, well you are one in the making, she smiled and left. My friend was like, this woman is funny o.

Usher wahala.... The service hadnt started, a friend calls me and i pickup, next thing this huge lady is allover me, telling me to end the call or go out..huh?i continued talking, then she adds a terrible excuse "The Phone is affecting the Video camera" what the!?!

I enjoyed the message though, it was something "Christians" ought to hear everyday not "this town would not be complete until you drive a car!" and the audience choruses a thunderous AMEN!.
Christianity has nothing to do with the church you attend, its about how you live your life EVERYDAY, EVERY MOMENT. Has nothing to do with -Self, haven nailed that to the cross. I am not a perfect person but i do know that Understanding leads one on the right way. With all the Religious Confusions i have experienced in my life, i should be Atheist. But haven realised the very essence of Christianity, its why i remain "Christian" or whatever label it is now.

Hair

Yup yup, go nappy! when my friend came over for the weekend, she was still surprised i was natural, infact she said So this is how your hair looks "due" Due for what? i ask. She just smiles. I try to let my hair out as often as possible, but i have currently been wearing a wig to work :( . From next week! its gonna be me and my hair!

I saw this natural woman at the church, with really long twists, my friend started to argue that its dreads, must natural hair be lowcut or dreads! Anyway, im watchng my hair, moisturizing everyday..oooh the feel of water through the hair..so great! so wonderful, so..lol

One of my guy friends has made me his hair consultant lol..see wat nachi don cause.lol

Weight Gain

I got this bread recipe from http://naijacookbook.blogspot.com/ which says would make you gain weight..plus i really like eggs, it has been really delicious, it was what even led me to that zombie dream *shudders* a friend says its cos i like food too much :P

Friendships

If there is anything i know about this, is that it isnt by force.it surely cannot be one-sided. i admit that im really laid back when it comes to sustaining friendships..but i dont have a problem with sticking with people. Friendship is the very foundation for every other type of relationship..if you want it long lasting anyway. Depending on the person, it could be really tasking too. I like making my own friends, i dont do communities.
Dude meets me at work and is acting like i forced him to be "friends" with me. I dont waste time letting people know what obtains with me ( so i get called harsh, quite often)...so i tell him straight up, if he thinks i am "work" he should take a hike. i just dont know why they never get it.

Work

Life at the Ministry of Corruption hasnt been smooth, it was really terrible at first but things are getting better. The members are going on recession next week, i may just be taking my leave too.hehehe.
It is Children's Day, i should have been home! atleast my parents see me as a child, It was "bring your children to work" day at the complex..i tried playing aunty at a point and opened my Snes emulator for some kids to play Mariokart and they had no idea, i was flummoxed! my kids will know MARIO o!! What a world these children live in these days, saddening :( lol

Churchianity (The Afro and the Dragon)

I was going to tweet my usual sunday rant, but my internet was out on Sunday, so I missed that, decided to blog it.

Hmm, i made the decision not to go to any "church" anymore, there's a lot I want to say, but I would limit this post to last two Sundays I went to "church"

The upper one, I choose the wrong seat and I try to tweet, the ushers are all over me, one of them, a really mean dude tried to seize my phone and call security.LMAO!
Ha! But my bible is on d phone, their Argument: we are in the presence of God, Mine: God is everywhere!
They finally leave me alone cause I tell them the phone is offline. The sermon,(comedy+motivational speak) not too bad.
I wasn't surprised when the 'bishop' said being 'churchy' would make you 'abound' and 'flourish' The only thing he failed to mention was how churchy Bill gates, Oprah and many more are.

The Last one, So I decided to go to church with my Afro, I got funny stares, almost jaw dropping ones. It also didn't help that I was wearing jeans and reading Paolini's Inheritance series. The really funny part was when the page with the illustration of the Dragon's eye which had already come out and was tucked within the pages of the book floated out. The people sitting close by me were quite startled. lol. I picked the page, tucked it back and continued reading my book jejely.

I really don't want to go there and do this, but its hard to listen to preaching that sounds like. .All i heard that day was 'Car, Car, Car. and Anointing for wealth'. if that isn't a load of rubbish, I dont know what is.

The more I see more of these church doctrines and programs, the more ridiculous it appears and I can't believe I once believed such things. I grew up happy as a 'Christian' child, but when innocence gets stripped off, some things beg for answers, answers these "churches" cannot provide or the brand of Christianity they proffer.

When I tell people I don't attend any "Church", they say they would pray for me, or that I need deliverance, whether jokingly or seriously , that just sums up Churchianity.

Sin!

Sin,
Is like toxic air
U can’t breathe
Ur in constant fear
U can’t go anywhere
U’d b trapped in a snare
Steer clear from this air
Sin.

Musings

The weakest soul knowing its weakness and believing this truth that strength can only come through effort and pratice will, thus believing, at once begin to exert itself, adding effort to effort, strength to strength, and patience to patience, will never cease to develop and would at last, Grow divinely

Friendship is an inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having never to weigh your thoughts nor measure your words!

Her heart was broken
many times before
her face looked frozen
you's know she wasn't just sore
She had fallen
Yes, she had
But she was still chosen
By the One
By the son
Who died on the cross
