Strictly When I sleep

I've always had vivid dreams, and I will continue to have them. Gone are the days where I would look through my mother's book called 'Demonic Dreams' or something of the sort. Which was just a horror book that could give Stephen King a run for his money. These books written by 'Men of God' on how to decipher someone's dream. I didn't really take it seriously, but some of my dreams did scare me.
Some days ago after tweeting about some dreams on Saturday/Sunday night, My uncle walks into my room and says 'Let me teach you about Dreams' I was like O.o. My friend had called earlier and said he dreamt He died. I shook my head, ok let me see what this man wants to say. So I go with him.

He opens up a book and begins to read about REM and NREM sleep and the kind of dreams they induce..Yeah I'd read about all these before. More on how our dreams are interpretations or influenced by our day to day life, supressed thoughts and what not. I thought about the three dreams I'd had that day. One, totally random but involved someone I know but I've never seen physically, the second involved my older sister, her friend and their son, also an actress from a movie starring genevieve, she was quite wicked in the movie ad in my dream, she tried kidnapping the boy. It also involved tube-line, Metroplitan line, Picadilly e.t.c the third dream, was about acting in a Dojo (Remb Nicki Minaj video) in North London!! None of them has to do with any day to day living of mine, but they are obviously influenced  by a lot, nothing seems unfamiliar to be honest.

My uncle, goes on to say, God will never give us dreams, that cause fear, if he says he hasn't given us the spirit of fear, why would we have nightmares and then claim they are messages from God or something of the sort. You are100% more likely to die from anxiety than from the dream you had about dying.
The last dream I had was a combination of many things, but the main part I remember being about one of those I follow on twitter, or someone that follows me. He lives in a house with the number four, he has sisters (3?) younger or older not sure, Father wears glasses, He is secretly gay....I dunno why I would dream about this, is there someone that really exists with this description, I don't know. All I can say is I dream.

Latest Dreams, Alien ships, Icicles, Human crowd simulator, me running tracks and some 'Asian' girl asking me where I was from, ...HMMM

Update: I dreamt I sued T.M Lewin, I went to one of their stores in central London, and no one wanted to attend to me cause I was wearing a hoodie and jeans, basically smelled of 'racist'. HMM

The Nigerian Dream

It was 1992, the first time in Abuja. We went to spend Summer Holidays with our Dad. My mum, sisters and I boarded Nigerian Airways and made the 50mins journey to the capital city. It was an amazing experience. My dad had gone out of his way to make this holiday special for us. He came to pick us from the airport and drove us straight to Agura Hotel. We were all amazed at how smooth the roads were, and how new the buildings seemed. This is like London, my sister quipped several times. At the hotel, we had a FEAST in every sense of the word, all manners of food and drink, I really couldn't love my dad more at that point. But alas due to my stomach sensitivity I was visiting the toilet in no time. If we go by first impressions, Abuja was a pretty awesome place to be.

When we got settled into the house my Dad had been living in at the OAU Quarters, a nice cosy three bedroom apartment, my sisters and I wasted no time exploring within and without. We spent the mornings watching our favorite Christian musical and the afternoons exploring the nearby hills. Abuja was indeed something the whole of Nigeria could aspire to be like. Back in Lagos where we live, NEPA was the main hindrance to our fun, but here we could watch our movies all day with no fear of the power being cut, and when it did, in a minute we could cheekily call NEPA and have the power restored in seconds. Bliss!!

Night-time was equally splendid. After our usual cups of Nescao, we would get on our cosy bed. The weather was usually cool that time of the year, so we would pretend we were 'Abroad'. Tell ourselves stories and sleep off when we were exhausted. One of such nights, I had the dream. I remember the shades of blue duvet I had. It always made it seem my dreams were bathed in a light blue glow.

Waking up, I glanced around, and stretched while I sat there on my bed. My room was large and I was alone. The sun streamed in through large glass windows which the whole house was covered with. This seemed like straight out of the Jetsons. I got off my bed and pressed a button, my night wear was taken off and dumped into the bin which sends dirty cloths to the laundry. My dressing gown came on. Food! I thought, I went to the panel and pressed a button. An array of breakfast came sliding towards me, as I lay back on my 'La-z-boy' type chair and proceeded to dig into the food. All in my mind was, This is the Life!

So much to say...

Yesterday I actually had the inspiration to blog about Nigeria. But today the passion is gone. There's too much one can say about Nigeria and where we are at, at 50yrs of Independence from the British Empire (as if). Anyways, I need to channel the little energy I have into something else. There are a couple of things that make me happy I was born into the entity known as Nigeria. But that would be a post for another day.

About my hair, I think i worship it too much these days, maybe that's why I'm being led to cut it all off (LOL!) I dyed it and...oh well my hair turned out quite red, one packet of dye is now obviously not enough for my thick hair (Lesson learnt) So I have the front of my hair, a coppery gold and the back, stark raven black. I want to love it, but i wanted something better!! this (LOL) >>

Men and their issues, So glad to be finally done (He's done) with me, nothing like having a nut off your back, Lord have mercy! I don't know where I am headed in this new adventure, But God dey.

New Projects, New things. I've got a number of ideas flowing in and out, I'm an ideas person, but turning them into something other than ideas, thats where the major issues lie. Dang. Hopefully I have enough energy to carry me through. I really don't want to work a 9-5 but if it would help my projects, so be it.

Wheew.

Thou shalt not Live by Primark alone

So I've really been thinking of this Fashion thing and I asked one of my friends to join me, But my other thoughts have been,
Do I really want to add more stuff to this world?
where is the Innovation in the Fashion Industry
Really??
If people are gonna buy Primark anyways, what should we do?

7/22/10

You know I am a dreamer. I woke up this morning and i'm like, 'no no, don't forget this dream'
So I'm supposed to travel today, may thats what triggered this dream, becuase it revolved around a train, and some friends who have graduated.

First of all, we had to walk for a long time, then in the way dreams come, one minute you are in someones room the next we were trying to catch this train, 'Chiltern' somehow the train is about to move, but i press the open button to one of the cars, which was apparently empty, somehow i got on it, and then it started to move. I was like ahh i made it, only for me to look outside the window and realize I was on my own, travelling in this car which had disengaged from the rest of the train. HORROR! omg, then the main parts of the train started to move towards me, i just felt like, this is the end of my life and I can't believe it would go out on Chiltern, I love Eastcoast.

I didnt give up though, somehow in the car was a lever to stop it, so as I raced towards the unknown on the rail-track, I located this lever or button, pressed it and you know, it took a while before the car lost momentum and came to a halt, just in front of one of the major stations in my destination.
By then alarm had been raised about the lone car. When I stepped out of the car, it was surrounded by workmen and passers-by who we usually call 'amebo', after asking what happened and what not, I was in a very confused state, and then the police came and asked me to come give a statement. I left the crowd of people with the car and went to tell my tale.

After all was said and done, I got back to the spot, and lo and behold! my bags had been ransacked. The people in the crowd were eastern europeans. I've had a huge sum of Euros in my wallet for a while (even in real life), I checked, and checked it was gone! my Atm card! aaah these people, I was devasteated..but as i picked my bag to go, thinking of what I was gonna do without the money, thinking of my ordeal and everything.. i kicked myself...this is a dream!

I woke up for about two seconds with a sigh of relief but still lapsed into the dream...and the same scene, my lament over money and property stolen. when I finally woke up, it was all round relief.

Oh My, This Is Awkward

So, this week has been a mix of what not and things you really don't wanna know. Living without internet in my house, blessing or curse, i really can't decide.

But what do you when when you are walking with a guy you just met at 1am, and you walk past a store with a nicely made up bed in the show window, then you say something like 'Aah this is the bed of fantasies' and he says
'Oh what do you fantasize about, tell me..i fantasize about handcuffs and being blindfolded'  O.O *Crickets* O.O
then you say 'I only fantasize about sleeping and having happy dreams'  because you know..you've been having visions and nightmares lately. then he says 'Ooh ok, our fantasies are different'  *__*

TGIF..........tomorrow.

I've had a full week, i'm happy to take a day off tomorrow. The week did start kinda nice, had some time out at Nando's with a new friend. but i woke up really shitty on wednesday, it was raining and i got to school late. I was supposed to present to the design class, which i did. it didnt go down as well as i wanted but i realized my skills are getting stronger, my heart didnt threaten to beat it out of my chest too, so yay! to that.

WolfDad
First of, i did have a nightmare after watching the wolfman on monday. In the dream My dad was suspicious, and it was just a horrible feeling, lots of other things happened, like a flood. Then the power in the house going off and on. Someone with an axe trying to break through a wooden panel to my room. All sorts of crazy! I woke up , slept back for an hour again , when i woke up at about 4am, i just couldnt manage to sleep again. i havent been so spooked in a looong time, i was watching my back and trying to listen for strange sounds as i made my way to the bathroom that morning while everyone was fast asleep, now i know i would be passing on such movies...''The goddam movies. They can ruin you. I'm not kidding''

Reveal!
I try, i swear i try, to maintain friendships, to get involved..but i don't believe in forcing things. I'm not a group person or a groupie. I just can't function properly within large groups and such especially wehn the majority don't ''really' interact with you. Theres no point forcing stuff, im letting go. I just can't 'roll' with folk of unlike minds.

Team Praline
So i really like my new team and i'm going to try to give it my best, we have agreed on quite a number of things, and seem to have a better understanding of things and how we can work together. This should really end up fantastic

R.I.P
This morning, i casually log into my facebook at about 11:45 am and realise that a friend, someone i knew back at CU died this morning, it threw me into shock...He was shot by armed robbers in Lagos on his way to work. I remembered when i had a gun pointed at my head, my laptop, phone was taken, but what stopped them from shooting??... I also remembered my friend who had been in the same situ and gotten away and the others who commute at early hours just to get to work early. R.I.P friend :(

Sad.

Escape From Zombie Mansion

I have been having really graphic dreams lately, over the weekend, i had a vivid dream Italicabout my wedding and the dress in particular, now im totally sure on what my dress would look like :D
Anyhow to the dream with the title..i dreamt it on saturday.
What happened that night, i slept very early while waiting for electricity to get back, so i woke up around four, there was power and i was yoma-hungry. i got to the kitchen and prepared some food, someone just gave me directions on how-to the day before, it was a great meal, and i thought i wont be able to go back to sleep, but after eating, chatting a bit with a friend i began to feel sleepy and then i drifted away.

Scene begins in another country, England or France. in an old mansion where there was a show on the recipes the house produced, there was an older woman with dark hair who was like the director of the kitchen and the chefs in their white garments, im sure some of them where french because on the TV i saw a translation as the cooks describe the dishes and recipes. So i decided to go to the mansion. when i got there (and realised they had just prepared the food i had prepared before i slept!) i tried to have a talk with them, tell them how delicious the meals where and ask for any advise on particular dishes, they just kept nodding and being cold, there was one male chef with a roundish bald head, he just looked at me and went about his duties. When i concluded they had no time for me, i decided to go home.

First, i had to use the bathroom, next thing i go into the bathroom, really posh, i see this designer toilet bag and i have no idea why i take it, and as i leave the bathroom, i see a room to my left, its tastefully done, with dainty little chairs, i had to take a picture, but as i sat down on one georgian chair tucked in the corner of the room, i began to go through the designer bag nothing of interest was in it, save for something that looked like a mirror, as i was fiddling with that, i heard a start of activity in the house, i turned back and saw this black American actor/comedienne (cant remember his name), rush by to the bathroom, he wanted to take a shower. I turned back to the mirror thing and held it to the dainty chairs and pressed a button, a loud boom followed, and the shuffle of footsteps increased, i then realised it wasnt my camera, as i tried to bring that out to take the picture, the baldheaded cook appeared at my right side,
you have to leave now, he said, face turning white
why?? i asked
he repeated himself, he goes to bathroom to tell the actor to do the same i assumed, i got my things together and started to leave when i realised all the cooks and everyone in the house where out in the hallway, they had turned ashen, i began to run, i ran out of the mansion only to see that the whole street was filled with zombies, the sun was down too.

i began to run as fast as i could, even jumping over some of the creatures, after a while, the American Actor appeared by my side and we tried escaping together, somehow we got to the top of a fridge or something, with three zombies trying to climb up too, one of them was the bald chef. we used ceramic cups and a teapot to stun them, then we got down.

We had gone in circles and we were back at the mansion, actually the American Actor, forgot something, as we were leaving, the Actor realised that his car was gone, but we saw a car key on the console near the front door, we grabbed it and just then, the Master zombie and two of his bodyguards started to come out of the house. We dove into the car but one of the guard was already trying to open the door. i jumped out and started to run. The american actor managed to put the key in the ignition and zoomed off, with the zombie dude stumbling to the ground, the actor slowed for me and i jumped into the car and we zoomed away! the car was a Lincoln.

Then i woke up!
wheew, i was exhausted, and i couldnt believe how much i could remember. . .
